Cydweli Common Ground

Cydweli Common Ground
Cydweli Common Ground, a hands-on environmental group of volunteers formed last year (2019), is an offshoot of GVEC, the solar garden project and has grown out of the Glan yr Afon volunteer group set up in 2017. We have a range of practical, gardening and teaching skills and are committed to working locally to help combat the ecological and climate emergency and do our bit to create a strong, self sufficient community here. So ‘thinking globally, acting locally.’ Our work and projects include tree planting and maintenance, footpath clearing, litter picking, supporting a local orchard, sowing wildflower patches in public places and supporting community veggie growing. We very much want to engage young people and to offer outdoor craft workshops for all. Volunteers welcome

The Allotment Association occupy Cae Maliphant, a field situated at the rear of Lady Street. Members can rent half or full plots on an annual basis.

The club meets every Wednesday at 7.00-9.00pm in the Upper Conference Room at the Princess Gwenllian Centre in Hillfield Villas. All are welcome from beginners to advanced.

The Association promotes the development of improved understanding and respect for different cultures and languages through events and visits. It is committed to the development of exchanges between the inhabitants of Kidwelly and its twin town, St Jacut de la Mer, for mutual social and economic benefit.

Raising money for all organisations in the community through Coffee Mornings and an Annual Carnival. Meetings are held on the second Monday of the month.

Ty-Golau is a health and wellbeing facility for people aged 50 and over, many of whom have memory problems, Alzheimer's or dementia type illnesses.
