Kidwelly Town Council
is a major land owner in the area as is responsible for the upkeep
of its estate. Kidwelly Town Council also has responsibility for
the following:
- Supporting the Town Mayor
- Supporting the Town Councillors
- Burial Authority for Kidwelly and Mynydd y Garreg
- Town Cemetery
- Various footpaths in Kidwelly and Mynydd y Garreg
- Glan yr Afon
Nature Reserve
- Kidwelly Quay and surrounding area
- Street Lighting
–Lamp posts beginning with the number 9
- Christmas Lighting
- War memorial and Remembrance Garden
- Princess Diana Memorial
Garden on the Town Square
- Church Clock
- Liason with the County
Council
- Tourist Information
We are also a general information service for the Town
and help co-ordinate various local events in the area. Kidwelly
Town Council acts as a distributing agent for Carmarthenshire County
Council in providing residents with:
- Blue Recycling Bags –Free
- Green Garden Waste Bags -£3.50 per roll of 10
- Domestic Refuse
Bins -£6 each (Free to those in receipt of State Pension or certain
Benefits)
Kidwelly Castle Passes
Residents of Kidwelly and Mynydd
y Garreg are eligible for free passes to Kidwelly
Castle from CADW.
These are available at the Kidwelly Town Council Offices. Children
under 16 will be admitted when accompanied by their parents. Each
pass is valid for 3 years from the date of issue. The pass is signed
by the holder and a passport size photograph is needed. The pass
allows free entry during standard advertised opening hours with
the exception of advertised events, where a charge may apply.
