Cydweli Common Ground, a hands-on environmental group of volunteers formed last year (2019), is an offshoot of GVEC, the solar garden project and has grown out of the Glan yr Afon volunteer group set up in 2017.
We have a range of practical, gardening and teaching skills and are committed to working locally to help combat the ecological and climate emergency and do our bit to create a strong, self sufficient community here. So ‘thinking globally, acting locally.’
Our work and projects include tree planting and maintenance, footpath clearing, litter picking, supporting a local orchard, sowing wildflower patches in public places and supporting community veggie growing. We very much want to engage young people and to offer outdoor craft workshops for all.
Volunteers welcome

Cydweli Common Ground have recently, in collaboration with Kidwelly Town Council, placed two benches in Kidwelly, one in Glan yr Afon and another situated by the canal at the Quay. We very much want to engage with the local community and new volunteers are welcome.
