What is Kidwelly Town Forum?
KTF has no group identity as such. KTF is a constituted association of voluntary representatives from different town groups. Its aims are to support and encourage these groups’ projects, as stated in its constitution and to act as a pressure group to help these groups achieve their aims and to support improvements in the town.

Achievements:
Its main and ongoing success for many years was to obtain funding through being a voluntary organisation to employ a Project Officer for Kidwelly and to employ that PO with support in kind from KTC for a number of years. This funding function has now been taken over by the Town Council.

Running Visioning Days with the support of Menter Cwm Gwendraeth to find out what people in the town think we need.

Encouraging other groups either by listening or emailing relevant County Council officers; writing letters of support or by small donations: eg Gwenllian Hall Trust; Parc Stephens’ sports groups; Civic Society; Youth Council

Organising, in partnership with the local environmental education company(GEE), a day-long Eco Event at Kidwelly Quay in September 2010 to flag up local resources (people and place) and to make information available about how we can live more sustainably.

Ongoing support to the Town Council and County Council in a plan to develop, in a low key way, an element of green tourism at the Quay and Canal side.

Kidwelly Town Forum General Committee meets on the third Monday of every month except December at 6 pm, currently in the Gwenllian Centre in Hillfield Villas.
