Kidwelly is twinned with St Jacut de la Mer in Brittany, France. St Jacut is a delightful, small town on the Emerald Coast, not far from the port of St Malo.
The relationship between the two towns began in 2006 with the aim of improving understanding between different cultures and languages. The Twinning Charter was signed on this side of the Channel in Kidwelly Castle in 2008 by the mayors of both towns The relationship has flourished with hundreds of citizens having been introduced to new experiences and new friends. The regular exchange visits involve people of all ages and from all walks of life and have included pupils and staff from both of Kidwelly's primary schools.
